CPT® 29862

Tricare is denying the CPT® code 29862 with a dx of 726.5 as uproven for the treatment of FAI and debridement of articular cartilage.

29862 is a arthoscopy hip surgical with debridement/shaving

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get this paid- this is the second denial I have recevied for this procedure. Please help!!!!

See 29914, 29915, 29916 (code added 2011). Not sure this is the answer you are looking for, but they may have changed their codes to these new ones from what I can find in my searches. Someone else may have a more exact answer.

CPT® 29862

Thank you but it seems the insurance companies do not like that code either. In this case my dos is 2010.
