NP/PA billing

Can NP/PA's bill for the work they might do during an inital visit to the hospital, either an admit or a consult? I am asking regardless of what insurance they have

Who employs them? Medicare has the "shared visit" rule when the NPP and the physician conduct a face-face on same date of service, in hospital. If criteria ia met, the physician can bill in his/her name. Otherwise, if NPP is only service and employed by physician/group, the NPP can bill as dictated by their state law regarding "scope of practice".
