CT Orbits w/o - Scout Images only. Indication is for MRI Evaluation

A scout image could be coded in addition if it was a medically necessary preliminary or scout study. However; since you are not doing a scout image you would charge for Diagnostic Radiology (Procedures of the Head and Neck Computed tomography, CPT codes 70481-70842 can be used for the orbit. At that time you need to determine which code applies, if contrast was used or not used.

70480 without contrast material
70481 with contrast material(s)
70482 without contrast material, followed by contrast material(s) and further sections
