Auto Accident

We have not seen our pt sine 2007 and pt came in for auto related accident. So, pt is considered a new pt since its over 3 yrs. By using 99204 (New Pt), will this affect our auto claim? Just wondering. Thanks!

Yes, this patient would be considered new. I don't believe it should affect the auto claim...

The patient would be new. As for it affecting the auto claim it should not...I am speaking on a personal level as well as a professional level. If a new patient come in to be seen at any office you have to bill a new patient OV. The diagnosis code will need to reflect the auto accident injuries and what not the E&M should be OK.
