MCR guidelines re billing beneficiaries for FLMA papwework.

Can someone refer me to MCR guidelines re billing beneficiaries for FLMA papwework. Is it OK? Is an ABN required? If OK - is the fee at the physician's descretion?

Thanks,
Carole

You can charge the beneficiary, not Medicare, for non-covered charges with advance notice. You can call Medicare and ask since I could only find non-covered charges and advance notice information when looking up fmla for Medicare. We charge for disability forms but not for the fmla forms.
