Can I bill 99393 and 17110

We billed 99393 and 17110 (wart removal) on the same day and the claim denied paying for the 99393 (well-visit). The denial reason was 10 day global period. Is there anything we can do to have the claim reprocessed and paid?

Thanks for your help!

Did you append the 25 modifier to the E/M? Also is this the first time you billed the 17110? Because if so, resubmit claim for 17110. If your pt was there for this same procedure within 10 days prior, then you would not be able to bill. It is always a good idea to call insurance company to have them explain the denial because I have gotten a lot of my denials sent back by the reps to be reprocessed and paid.

Yes, I did append the 25 modifier on the original claim. And no the patient was not seen for the same procedure with 10 days.

Thank you so much for your feedback.

I would call the insurance company for an explanation. There is a good chance this was denied in error. I know I spend a lot of time calling them on denials just to find out it was an error. Also do you have a different dx code attached to the CPT® other than the one attached to the procedure? If the office visit was for the same thing, then you can only bill the procedure.
Sorry can't be more help. Good luck.
