Bill two specialities for one provider in the same day?

Can my Hospitalist Intensivisit who is also a Pulmonologist bill for services in both specialities on the same day?

I assume you mean on the same patient. Unless, the svcs are going to be billed under a different group# generally a Payer will only reimburse the higher E&M code. Using mod25 may help.

Insurance companies go by NPI numbers and tax IDs. I code for a large Otolaryngology group that includes 3 different subspecialties. I would recommend combining the provider's documentation and billing just ONE E/M.
