drg's for discharge

I am a case manager for a hospital, i have heard that i should be ensuring the correct transfer DRG is listed on the discharge order, such as discharge to snf is this true? what additional information would be helpful for the coders to see? thanks

Yes, discharge order must be clear in the record. Actually, the attending MD should indicate this in his/her discharge summary. It can make a difference in the correct payment. Coders will indicate the discharge status code in the final attestation.
