If you add the wrong diagnosis on a pt then send in a corrected claim will the diagnosis be removed or does it stay with the pt forever? According to Healthsprings if you send in a corrected claim it does come off.

If you sent a notice so they know it's a correct claim and a clerical error was made, they will remove the mistake one and reprocess the corrected claim. You can call them and do a followup on the information that should be showing and make sure they processed the corrected claim correctly and removed the wrong information. If you just changed the claim and sent it out it might not get processed correctly. Usually a billing system has a place you can enter what you corrected otherwise they might deny it as a duplicate. It's always best to send a letter of reconsideration/appeal/clerical error reopening on these types of situations.
