Zostavax

I am currently billing CPT® 90471 and ICD-9 V04.89 for the administration of the Zostavax vaccine. I also indicate on the claim that we are billing for the administraton of the Zostavax vaccine. The patient gets the vaccine from their pharmacy and bring it in to our office. Can you tell me how other practices are billing for the administration of Zostavax vaccine and if they are getting paid? Thank you.

I used to manage a large Internal Medicine practice and we would bill only the adminitration code for the vaccine if that was the only purpose for the visit.
