How to bill a inpt discharge then an inpt admit same day same physician

Patient discharged inpatient hospital in the morning and admitted same day back to inpatient in the afternoon by the same physician. Unsure how to bill- please advise. thank you.

You may want to find out what the hospital is calling that stay. If it is the same hospital then they may delete the discharge and continue with that same hospital admission. In that case you would not charge for you d/c and add up all your documentation for a subsequent visit. Most hospital continue with the same admission.

Same day/different hospital

Physician discharges patient from Hospital A in the morning. Condition worsens, and physician admits patient to Hospital B that afternoon. How would that be handled?
