HCPCS
The strength (concentration) is determined by the percentage of organically bound iodine per ml. Since you are allowed to bill separately for the contrast, choose a HCPCS code that represents the gm/ml injected. For example, HCPCS code Q9965 represents Low osmolar contrast material, 100-199 mg/ml iodine concentration per ml. HCPCS code Q9966 represents 200-299 mg/ml and Q9967 represents 300-399 mg/ml. If 100 mg/ml was injected, assign HCPCS code Q9965.
