I have only gotten it covered with codes 305.50 - 305.53

Normally any of the substance abuse or dependance codes. 305.00 to 303.90

We were getting paid before having to change to G code with the reason they take the med, I am assuming you are checking your patients you prescribe narcotics to for pain control, anyway, the reason ie..chronic back pain then also use a drug monitoring code, like V58.69 or whichever fits your situation. Hope this helps.
