In a recent office visit a patient was billed for obesity counseling. What are the criteria for this to be considered obesity counseling? The physician did not spend 10minutes discussing the subject or even suggest diet or exercise for the patient. The patient stated that she wanted to lose a few pounds and said that was going to Weight Watchers.
The physician billed the patient $40.00
