Using ge modifier for ohio Medicaid claims

Can someone confirm that, in the State of Ohio Medicaid requires the GE modifier to be used (as does Medicare) to report claims that fall under the primary care exception?

Thanks, Carole

re: USING GE MODIFIER FOR OHIO MEDICAID CLAIMS

To bill for services performed in part by a resident under the direction of a teaching physician, use modifier “GC.”

(2) To bill for services performed by a resident without the presence of a teaching physician under the primary care exception rule described in paragraph (D)(E)(3) of this rule, use modifier “GE.”

Thank you, Nancy. I knew the GE modifier was a valid modifier for Ohio Medicaid but could not locate the statute.

Glad you are around to help!
