during post op

A patient had surgery on his right knee in November and in December he came in for post op visit still having pain in his right knee. Provider performed an injection in that knee. This is a Medicare patient, is there a modifier I can add to the 20610 to get it paid by Medicare?

For a Medicare patient anything related to recovery from the surgical period is included in global. Pain is related to this recovery unless otherwise specified as unrelated underlying condition. No modifier, no bill.
