Facility vs Non-facility

OK, we were a hospital based clinic, then the hospital decided to set us up with our own tax ID, and NPI. We have 5 clinics as LLC. Do you consider us Facility or non-facility. Each clinic has to support itself.

You will need to check with the hospital as to how they have set up the clinics for tax reporting & how they have reported the structure to Medicare, Medicaid & other payers. Are the claims billed on UB-04, CMS 1500, or both?

There can be several variations about the structure & you need to know the specifics from the hospital.
