Risk Adjustment

Hello -I am an RHIT who has just entered into a new arena of work and I am looking for any information or resources that anyone cares to reccommend. After 8 years in the acute care hospital setting, I have accepted a position with an insurance provider in the Risk Adjustment area of their Medicare plan. I am researching and learning quickly but I would very much apprecaite any information or recommendations any has regarding this area.
Thank You

I am pretty much in the same situation. I am a CPC, CPC-I and have been coding for 14+ years and now in the same position you are in. I have found a few good presentations in pdf form on the CMS website. If you can't find them and would like me to e-mail them to you, let me know. tnlsmith@paulbunyan.net

If you are talking about HCC coding for Medicare Advantage plans, I can help you. I have been working for a company over a year doing abstract ICD-9 coding according to the HCC model. You can email me at andrewbilling@comcast.net to contact me.

Sincerely,
Arlene Andrew, CPC, CPC-I
