How long does a Teaching Physician have to link to a resident's note before it is deemed non billable?

This is not discussed specifically in the Medicare Claims Processing Manual. Does your organization have a policy? It would seem reasonable to me that they would use the same time frame for the linking statement as for when any documentation must be completed.

Does anyone have a local carrier or MAC policy that addresses this?
