Colonoscopy Coding

I currently do the billing for my office. Recently a patient had a colonoscopy w/ removal of polys. I was told to bill for two co pays? This has never happened before and I am not sure that it is appropriate. Can you help me please?

If patient has co-pay for procedures you would bill only one.

Maybe patient has coins or a deductible. If a docs office is part of the hospital/clinic a patient can get hit twice due to the technical billing portion. Just wait until you get paid then you'll know for sure what is the PR.
