ICD 10 PCS code need for repair of skin of left elbow
This is an Inpatient case with multiple injuries after pedi-mvc. He had a laceration to the left elbow which was sutured to repair. In ICD 10 PCS, the OHQ code lists upper and lower arm. Does not have a separate listing for "elbow". so, what is the correct code?? Thanks.
Skin, subcutaneous tissue and fascia overlying a joint
The following is According to CMS Guidelines B4.6
If a procedure is performed on the skin, subcutaneous tissue or fascia overlying a joint, the procedure is coded to the following body part:
• Shoulder is coded to Upper Arm
• Elbow is coded to Lower Arm
• Wrist is coded to Lower Arm
• Hip is coded to Upper Leg
• Knee is coded to Lower Leg
• Ankle is coded to Foot
