Teaching B12 self injections

Can you bill Medicare in Texas for teaching a patient how to self-inject B12? (sorry, I posted this last night, but I've been searching for 15 minutes and can't find your answer)

There is no code for teaching self-injection. IF you do and document the work required by CPT® guidelines, you might be able to charge a 99211.

Can you bill the 99211 in addition to billing the injection codes (96372, J3420)?

Not unless you have a separate diagnosis beyong the injection procedure, so usually the answer is No

TrailBlazer (and nationally, I think) Medicare will not pay you for the B12 or injection. You would have to get a signed ABN and bill the patient. (Assuming you are providing the B12. If brought by the patient, you should not charge for the J3420)
