Umbilical Hernia Repair

Dr. did an open umbilical hernia repair and a LT inguinal hernia repair with mesh: I coded it as such: patient was over 5 yrs. of age. 49505 LT 49587 51 Am I correct in adding the 51 modifier to the second procedure code? This is the first time I've coded this type of surgery...just want to make sure I've got it right..
