Family Conference

I know this has probably been answered before, but I can't find it. We have a medicare patient whose family has requested a conference. Are we able to charge Medicare for this if the patient is not present? Or should we bill them as self-paying individuals.

Medicare and some other payers require that E/M services include face-to-face services with the patient.
