Turbinate outfracture and resection

We are getting denials when billing 31240 (Resection of Middle turbinate) with 30930 (outfracture of inferior turbinates) and when billing 31240 with 30140 (resection of inferior turbinate). Does anyone know how we can get paid without having to do appeals?

30930 is included in those procedures.

The only way that you could bill both is if 31240 or 30140 was performed on one side only and 30930 was performed on the other side only. In this scenerio, modifier 59 would be added to 30930.

30930 is included in 30140 but it is not included in 31240. the problem comes when I bill 30140 and 31240 together or when I bill 31240 and 30930.
Since 31240 is the Middle Tubinate
I should not have a problem billing it when the inferior tubinate is also being outfractured or resectioned. Insurance is not wanting to pay for the 31240.
