rejection coce PI-97

Can someone please tell me how to correct this code if there is a way.
PI-97: The benefit for this service is included in the payment/allowance for another service/procedure that has already been adjudicated.

This usually means that a modifier is required...I would ck to see if another service or procedure was performed on the same day or this service was performed within a global period...that would determine the modifier that is needed.

Thanks for your quick response, please explain the global period please. just getting into billing, and how would i know if they have been somewhere else prior to the office visit?
