Appealing letter

Our office scheduled two visits for one patient on the same day with different body part injuries with different doctors in our practice. My doctor that I bill for is a Hand Specialist who is credentialed with a sub specialty taxonomy number. Insurance denied his visit because only one office visit can be billed. I'm looking for any sample of an appeal letter that I can write stating he can bill for an office visit because of his specialty. Is there appeal rights for this situation?

If they are billing with the same tax id, this is where your problem is. However you can still appeal based on the different specialties. You would have to provide notes for this and it should explain the reason for your visit. In the past when I billed for a multi-specialty group we had to send both sets of notes from both doctors.

Hope this helps.
