Coding Course

Recently I've been looking into becoming a certified medical coder (physicians office) and I just have a few questions I'm hoping someone can address. Locally, there has been a course offered for preparation for CBCS (certified billing and coding specialist) certification. Is this an AAPC recognized course? Have anyone heard of this certification before? Just want to make sure I make the best choice possible. Thank you for your answers and any advise you maybe able to offer.

Certified Coding Course

I am a past President of one of the Local Arizona Chapters of the AAPC. I have not heard of this course so I cannot give an opinion on it. My recommendation is to contact the AAPC by telephone or one line and they can help you find an AAPC Course to take in your area. AAPC is extremely helpful and can walk you through all your Coding preparation needs. Google them at AAPC.com under "Contact Us" on there web sites front page you can talk to them via email or call them direct at 800-626-CODE (2633). Hope this helps.
