foley catheter change

Pt came in to have foley catheter change. So, the only thing doc did is change it. Is this a billable service or use 99211? I am confuse!

This is probably not related to your specialty but most times, the rules go hand and hand.

I code for an Otolaryngology group and when patient's come in for a Montgomery Tube change for their tracheoesophageal fistula, it is included in the E&M. The only exception is if the patient in post op of the tracheoesophageal puncture and the fistula tract has not completely healed. Only then can a different code be used. I hope this helps!
