Supplemental Insurance
70 year old female with breast cancer, who has Medicare and need a supplemental insurance. She draws to much for Medicaid but can't afford supplemental insurance. Is there somewhere that she may get help?
re: Supplemental Insurance
You might try Patient Access Network- panfoundation.org. Depending on what state you are in, there may be state-level assistance out there also. Hope this helps.
re: Supplemental Insurance
She can also contact Patient Financial Services at a local hospital to see if they have a Komen grant. If your state has an indigent care program to reimburse hospitals for un/underpaid care, they could also screen her for that - then if her treatment is scheduled at the facility, she might get significant discounts. In addition to PANF mentioned by rlbh508, there is another foundation with a similar name (www.copays.org/), but their funding has been very shaky for the past year or so. There are also: www.cancercarecopay.org/, www.healthwellfoundation.org/
I think some of the latter may help with insurance premiums and other treatment related expenses. She will need to provide her income.
