Neurology

Hi, I have a question regarding EEG Codes. A patient was seen by a neurologist for EEG with Video( 20 min). What is the appropriate CPT® code?
I found 95951 with mod 52. Can we use this for the above scenario?

If EEG with video was done for 50 min can we use 95951 with mod 52 or else should i go for 95812(41-60 min) but this code is for without video right?

Please Clarrify the above questions
Thank you

re: Neurology

I would use the 95812 code personally, whether doing with or without video. 95951 code with a 52 modifier will require reviews for medical necessity and time duration. It is preferred that at least 8 (per AAN) or 12 hours are done to consider billing 95951, and if "less" than these to use the -52. I personally would not use the 95951 with 52 modifier unless you intended on capturing spells for localization/confirmation and did at least 3-4 hours of monitoring. 95813 was meant for >1 hour, but adding video "just because" you have it, likely would be frowned on if audited.
