New VS Established patients

Are nurse practioners working in a physicians specialty office considered the same specialty as the physician. If physician saw patient 2 years ago and FNP saw now would they be new to NP?

The NP would be considered to be the same specialty.

This is from the 2014 CPT® book (p. 11 of then professional version from AMA:

"When advanced practice nurses and physician assistants are working with physicians they are considered as working in the exact same specialty and exact same subspecialties as the physician"
