Schirmer Test (ophthalmic mucous membrane) CPT® Code 95060
If patient has Allergies or Allergy-related symptoms, shouldn't we expect payment for Schirmer Test performed? Example:
Primary ICD-10 H10.45 (Other Chronic Allergic Conjuctivitis)
CPT® Code: 99213 (24)
CPT® Code 95060
Many of our insurance carriers we participate with are now actually paying for this test --- IF we provide allergy-related diagnosis and well-documented charts.
Why such resistance from insurance carriers about this, even still today? Of course tests are experimental - They still pay for them... Your thoughts and input would be appreciated. Thanks.
