Medicare help asap. Please

Dr. saw patient in office and we charged a new patient code 99203, it has paid. However dr. saw patient IN the hospital on 8-29-12 and 8-30-12. What codes can I charge for both days. PT IS MEDICARE AND I CAN NOT CHARGE CONSULT>... Dr was the one that sent her to ER but was not admitting doctor.. Can anyone please help as soon as possible..

What day did you charge the new patient code? If not the admitting physician, why did he see patient in hospital?

we charged a new patient visit on 8-28-12, she was in pain Dr referred her to E.R. they admitted her and Dr went in to consult while she was admitted.

i don't mean to be an idiot but i searched for catagory of code. is that what you mean because i can't find it in the search box. or are you meaning to search for the exact code because that is why i asked what code to use for 2 inpatient visits.

In the box above "look it up" type the word category.

The first entry will be "Category of code selection"
