Observation- same date or different date

it must be one of those days when I am just thinking too much.

Question: if the provider placed the patient in Observation at 11:11pm on day 1, then on day 2 discharge the patient, isn't this codes as a separate initial observation (99218-99220) & Observation Discharge (99217)? I think because the time is so close to midnight I am confusing myself.
