Uncertain behavior lesion excision

If my physician excises a lesion and the pathologist codes it as uncertain do I use the benign CPT® code or the malignant one when I bill?

There is a code for uncertain behavior by site on the neoplasm table.

I'm sorry. I wasn't clear. I need to know which CPT® code to use. Thanks

Ah. I would be concerned that a pathologist would come back with "uncertain" (pathology). The path report should be your go-to difinitive answer.

If the diagnosis is uncertain behavior, then you will use the benign excision of lesion CPT® code.
