Psychotherapy Code for Reviewing Extensive E-mails
I'm working with a family on a complicated problem: father, step-mother, children and ex-wife. I've seen all of these people individually and jointly in several different sessions. The father has frequently corresponded with me by e-mail asking for advice, and I never charged a claim for it. However, recently he asked me to review many e-mails threads to better understand the toxic relationship between the father and ex-wife. This took me well in excess of one hour. I understand that there are codes for time spent on e-mails with patients, but I'm having a hard time finding the codes and examples. I'm in CT, and the insurance company is Anthem BCBS.
