labs and E&M

If the labs are drawn for the same reason the E&M dx, those are not billable unless seperate dx. Is that correct?

Cannot make that an accurate statement. Cardiac enzymes may be drawn for chest discomfort and E/M can address same. Or, fatigue, weight gain can be reason for visit and labs drawn for thyroid testing.

if for the reason is a follow up and rx written, same dx for labs drawn as well as the E&M? Would you bill and E&M if its a follow up and labs done same day?
