TIF Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication

Have a surgeon getting ready to do his first TIF procedure. All I'm finding is the unlisted 43499 code for this...is this correct? Is anyone finding that Medicare will or won't pay for this procedure? What about other insurances? Any experience/information you have would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

43499 is it...if you google the procedure you will come up with some insurance policies. It is hard to pre-cert on an unlisted code, so it is always safe to have the pt sign a waiver, and if possible, request a review from the ins co.
