CPT® CODE FOR Tract Embolization With Gelatin Sponge Slurry for Prevention of Pneumothorax After Percutaneous Computed Tomography-Guided Lung Biopsy
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT CPT® CODES WOULD BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING PROC:
Informed written consent was obtained. The patient was placed in the supine
position on the fluoroscopic table. Preliminary images of the left lobe of the
liver were obtained. A right paramedian subcostal approach was used. The skin
was prepped and draped using chlorhexidine. 2% lidocaine was used for local
anesthesia. A 17-gauge guiding needle was introduced under ultrasound guidance.
An image was obtained showing the needle tip in position in the mid left lobe. 2
separate biopsies were then obtained using an 18-gauge Biopince needle.
Following the procedure, Gelfoam pledgets were used to embolize the biopsy tract
to decrease risk of post biopsy bleeding.
PRIMARILY LOOKING FOR CPT® FOR THE GELFOAM EMBOLIZATION, IF ANY.
THANKS!!!
