Billing a New Visit Following Diagnostic Testing performed by a Cardiologisyt

Can we bill a new visit when the patient comes in the office if all we (the Cardiologist) have performed was a test at the hospital ?

New vs established after diagnostic cardiac test

If there was a professional component: supervision of a stress test or cardiac cath: then it is an established patient visit.

If only the technical component: read and interpreted the EKG, with no face-to-face component, a new patient.
