X-Close procedure

I recently read in a coding bulletin that the X-close procedure could only be billed alone and not with a 63030 diskectomy code. I have never heard of a neurosurgeon going back in to do the X-close at a later date. Has anyone heard of this?

X-Close procedure

No - that would not make sense. Furthermore, using the X-Close system to close the annulus after a diskectomy (63030) is not separately billable (even using an unlisted code like 22899).
