I was just inverviewed by our local hospital for an out-patient coding position. The interviewer told me that they use Coding Clinic as thier resource for coding questions. Personally, I have not used it. Obviously, if I am hired, I will be using it as well.

I hope that helps,

All coders should be using it. CC is the official coding advice for ICD-9-CM coding. Unfortunately most physician practices don't subscribe to it. It is a must have for compliant ICD-9-CM coding. Most of the coding scenarios are more hospital slanted, but nevertheless it should be used all.

Of course all coder's want to be accurate but what incentive is there for outpatient/especially physician coders to purchase this product since CPT® codes are attached to reimbursement? ICD-9 must justify medical necessity of CPT® codes but ICD-9 is not payment driven for physician's like I assume inpatient DRG coding is?
Does this product have any other coding scenarios other than ICD-9 coding? Any CPT®?
