Help

Pt came in the office due to "PASSED OUT". Dr evaulated the pt & decided to send him to the E/R. Do I have to bill his office visit? Thanks!

You don't HAVE to bill the office visit; however, I suggest that you do bill the office visit. The physician did perform a service and made a medical decision, he should receive payment for the visit. The only exception to this is if he will also be doing the admit at the hospital because the physician is only allowed to bill for either the office visit or the hospital admit.
