We have just started using the robotic surgical technique. Is it necessary to submit the S2900 code? Thanks

Robotic Assisted Surgery

We have been billing the robotic codes with laparoscopic codes for years, but not S2900. The S codes are not valid for Medicare and have no RVU's. It appears they may be informational for Medicaid or private sector. Read the intorductory note for S codes. We do not use them.
