EmergencyRoom Type B

What CPT codes should be used for the professional part of a ER Type B visit?

Type B

First you have to know what you mean by a type B visit. ED visits must have a history, physical and MDM documented and then coded to level of medical necessity and documentation.

Type B

This is specific to the hospital facility billing, not relevant to physician billing in ED. The physician bills 99281-99285 based on documentation by physician in medical record.

Emergency Room type B billing

I agree. Since I was not able to find anything on our MAC or CMS website, I thought the same. However, when I "googled" the topic I had come across something from Ingenix from 2007 stating on a table that for the profession charge, the ER physicians are to use outpatient codes.
Personally, I do not think there are many Type B Emergency rooms out there, or are they?
