CPT® 20005

HI,
I'm a little confuse with these codes.
Patient came in for a left elbow pain. The DX code done was 274.01 Acute gouty arthropathy.

We used 99213 E/m code
and 20005-- incision of deep abcess.

Can we use 10060 instead of 20005, The Procedure 18 gague needle punctured elbow with 10 cc of yellow clear fluid aspirated?

thanks

re: CPT® 20005

It is a 20605 - aspiration, not an incision and drainage

E/M and procedure on the same day:

This is well covered in the articles in Codapedia.

Put the search term "modifier 25" in the box above "look it up" and you'll find articles and discussion forums. Here are just two of the ones I found when I searched.
