Can you use the code 99496 with the EM code 99214?

It is my understanding that the initial face to face visit associated with transitional managment is included and not separately billable. If during the 30 days, you see the patient again, then I think it is okay to bill for the E/M. As for billing them together, I would not. Hope this helps.
