Skin excisions

I get confused with excisions and margins in selecting the correct CPT® code. Excision of a benign keratosis from the lower leg with a margin of 1-cm laterally and a 2-cm margin proximally. Would the correct coding decision be a lesion that is 5 cm or a 2 cm lesion or somewhere in between?

Do you have the Professional Edition of the CPT® book? There is a chart at the start of the excision section that should help you.

Do you mean .2 and .5 cm, not 2 and 5 cm?
