Elimination of Consultation Codes

Currently we provide consultations in skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes to patients.

We utilize 99252, 99253, and 99254.

Since these consultation codes are going to be eliminated in 2010 what visit codes do we use?

2010 Consults

These codes are not being eliminated in the 2010 CPT. Whats happening is in 2010 Medicare will no longer accept or pay any consult codes 99241-99245 or 99251-99255.
Per Medicare you should bill 99304-99306 instead of the consult codes if you are billing for a nursing facility.
